MINDFULNESS BASED
SELF STUDY

"It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”

- Henry David Thoreau

Hello!

I’m Cassandra. I spent a decade as a Director in a multinational company, helping high achievers get the jobs they thought they wanted. However, I saw again and again, that getting what we want only increases short term happiness.

There is a saying: “Wherever you go, there you are.”

It’s like wearing blue tinted glasses from which you view the world.

We can change our partners, our jobs, or our circumstances, but frustratingly, the world still appears blue. The same patterns tend to show up after some time.

We forget that the lenses colour everything blue.

Thus began my search for answers: From what lens am I viewing the world? What am I unaware of, that is shaping me? And why do we repeat certain patterns, even when we know we should do it differently?

Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy is about making the unconscious conscious.

In my teachers’ words: “I don’t wish for you to be different; I just wish for you to be conscious.”

We are wounded in relationships, and it is in relationships that we heal. I would love a world in which people felt safe in their bodies, safe around others, and safe to be themselves.

All this to say: I too, have been to the bottom. And from that pain, this work was born.

  • “When I first started, I thought I knew what my ‘issues’ were. I knew how to figure things out with my mind, but I did not know how to feel my feelings, or even what to do with them. Cassandra has walked with me into parts of my consciousness I had never known existed. She is kind, gentle, clear and real. She reads every little facial expression and body movement in a way that is loving and welcoming. The sessions have shone a light on how I show up in relationships and at work. I have more clarity and compassion for myself and others. "

  • "Cassandra’s gentle and loving presence enables me to be present with all that comes up. Even the most cautious and vulnerable parts of myself feel safe and welcome. I found Hakomi therapy to be a wonderful way to discover and understand my own inner experience. I was surprised that online sessions could be so powerful."

    A.J, Clinical Psychologist, Belgium

  • "Cassandra is a great psychotherapist with empathy and genuine care at her very core. I loved the mindfulness aspect of the Hakomi method... I became more aware of my belief system towards myself and the world around me."
